I feel depressed after watching the movie. Looking at the road. Looking at the sky. The ultimate question is, how much longer that we still have??
‘An Inconvenient Truth’ is an academy award winning movie which centred on global warming. This movie is revolved on the awareness campaign presented by former United States Vice President Al-Gore.
I came to know about Al Gore when he made that infamous comment during the Reformasi fiasco in 1998 between freshly sacked then, Anwar Ibrahim and King of the Mount, our beloved Tun Mahathir.
Al Gore, whom attended an APEC Summit (1998) in Malaysia then, voiced out his support for the ‘reformasi’ movement which received complaint and condemnation from Malaysia publics and media.
Wikipedia link on the fiasco here!!!
However, it happened so long ago and after watching his work on global warming campaigns, all is forgiven.
The idea of global warming has been introduced to me since I was in secondary school. We know then all about the ozone layer depletion and also the global warming. However, idea will remain as an idea, if people don’t realise that they are part of the global warming equation.
After watching the movie, I’m looking at the industrial plant with different perspective. This is what that will caused the suffering in our next generation, and there is absolutely nothing we can do about it. Shut down the plant that emit too much smokes? Can…have to wait lor..
Yes, we can do our part.. and hoping it will be sufficient. But without everyone else participation, the effort will be futile.
We have seen the increase in storm and floods. It’s the way our mother earth retaliate to get rid of the ‘things’ responsible for getting her sick. And the ‘things’ happen to be you and me.
Act now, or we may need to move to upper ground (Banjaran Titiwangsa?) when the last ‘chunk’ of Artic iceberg melted. God Help us!!!
